
Mrs Shcherbyna's class made Christmas cards for senior citizens at Piqua nursing homes for their service project.


Mrs. Peltier's class had a great time choosing decorations, sharing and counting items to make gingerbread houses this week!





Mrs. Rogers’ class at Piqua Junior High were busy at work decorating their own cooking aprons and learning to make 4 different kinds of muffins for their Merry Muffins party tomorrow afternoon!




Ms. Swanberg led a communication group with Ms. Hinkle’s class. The student’s used a recipe to identify each ingredient and to follow the step by step process. Students worked on taking turns and following directions.








Miss Embry’s class made holiday treats to pass out to staff members this week. They made buckeyes, chocolate covered peanut butter pretzels, white chocolate puffcorn, Hershey kiss pretzels, and puppy chow.



Mr. Hahn and Mrs. Petty's classes went to Walmart for a life skills trip. The students had a blast!

Miss Smith's class loved decorating their classroom Christmas tree!!









Mrs Wolfe's class voted on their favorite fast food restaurant after categorizing them. They practiced their independent communication skills both in the classroom and in the community. Thanks to Troy Foundation for providing this life skill learning opportunity.









This week, ESC career navigator, Kristi Voisard, coordinated an opportunity for Bethel High School students to participate in a career exploration "Lunch & Learn" focused on healthcare.
Carrie is a registered nurse who shared about her career path through nursing school and she now serves on the HR team for Kettering Health. Her stories were insightful and the students really enjoyed the Q&A!




Miss Embry’s class put together “Simmer Pot Kits” for Christmas gifts. The classroom smells like holiday spirit!



Mrs. Prenger’s students voted on what holiday recipes to make for December. They decided on puppy chow, chocolate covered pretzels, and peanut butter blossom cookies. They then made a shopping list, rode the transit, and found the ingredients at Walmart.








Our students will be so excited about our gift from RePlay for Kids of 13 new switch toys to be used with our SLP staff. These toys are used with an external switch for easier access for the student. This can be the first step to learning alternative communication.

Mrs. Smith's Class learned all about planning a trip. This week they planned their own trip to see Moana 2. They had to research and figure out how to get there and the cost of the whole trip: transportation, tickets, and snacks. The movie was 2 thumbs up!









Two of Mrs. Prenger’s students worked hard today cleaning out multiple cat cages at The Miami County Animal Shelter. They are hoping all of the cats and kittens find a nice loving home.




Congratulations to our Business Advisory Council partner Concrete Sealants, Inc. for being recognized as Business of the Year by the Tipp City Chamber of Commerce. Liz Sonnanstine, ESC career connections coordinator, presented the award to Howard Wingert, Concrete Sealants President, and the ConSeal team at the Annual Holiday Gala.

Mrs. Smith's Class is learning about Service projects and helping others. Today they put together 40 goodie bags to donate to Rustic Hope to be given to children at Christmas.








Mrs. Rogers’ class at Piqua Junior High made and ate a Thanksgiving meal together and shared how they are thankful for one another.
